During morning hours, proceed to a beautiful drive to the coffee land of India - Coorg. Closer you reach, you will feel the waft of coffee on the cool breeze as the Western Ghats starts. After leaving the highway and a little bumpy ride through the unpaved road of coffee plantation, reach the beautiful private home of a coffee planter. Get yourself pampered with the warmth and hospitality of the owner. After check in, enjoy a delicious spread of home-made kodagu dinner and later you can sleep gently in this tranquil land to gear up for next day.

Go for an early morning stroll to tranquil green coffee plantation. See how the red coffee cherries are turned into beans and processed to make your favorite cup of coffee. After delicious breakfast, you will leave for sightseeing to Abbey Falls, a breathtaking waterfall, which could be seen from a hanging bridge. From there proceed to Omkareshwara Temple, built in 1820 and Talakaveri - origin of river Kaveri on the eastern slopes of Brahmagiri peak at 1350 metres altitude, about 8 km by road from Bhagamandala Temple. In the afternoon, visit Madikeri Fort which was initially built as a mud fort by Mudduraja in 17th century, eventually rebuilt in granite by Tipu Sultan. At Raja Seat ,enjoy the spectacular golden glow of evening sun over the mountains and coffee plantation.

As the sweet morning glory and clear blue sky wish you good morning, prepare yourself for a lovely day ahead. Post breakfast, check out from the home stay and proceed to the Golden Temple of Namdroling monastery. Nestled amidst the sandal groves, Namdroling was established by His Holiness Pema Norbu Rinpoche when he came to India from Tibet with some monks. At that time he had only 300 rupees in his hands and with the help of other monks he laid the foundation stone of this monastery. His Holiness the Dalai Lama sanctified the spot and named it "Namdroling Monastery." Today, the monastery is the home of 5000 Tibetan monks and nuns, settled in India. The area is full of color and culture which will surely overwhelm you. As your time and interest permits, you may stop at Dubare Elephant Camp, on the banks of Cauvery river, where you can feed Elephants, bathe them and ride on them. Return back to Bangalore by evening.
Abbey Falls : A Falls in Kodagu, in the Western Ghats in Karnataka. It is located 8 km from the Madikeri, 268 km from Bangalore and 122 km from Mysore. The waterfall is located between private coffee plantations with stocky coffee bushes and spice estates with trees entwined with pepper vines. A hanging bridge has been constructed just opposite the falls.
Talakaveri : A place that is generally considered to be the source of the river Kaveri. It is located by Brahmagiri hill (not to be confused with the Brahmagiri range further south) near Bhagamandala in Kodagu district, Karnataka, 1,276 m. above sea level. However, there is not a permanent visible flow from this place to the main rivercourse except during the rainy season.
Madikeri Fort : This was first founded by Mudduraja in the second half of the 17th century. He also built a palace inside the fort. It was eventually rebuilt in granite by Tipu Sultan who named the site as Jaffarabad. In 1790, Dodda Vira Rajendra took control of the fort. The British who added to the fort in 1834. The palace was renovated by Linga Rajendra II in 1812-1814. In the north-east corner at the entrance are two life size masonry elephants and a church is present in the south-east corner.
Namdroling Monastery : It is the largest teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in the world. Located in Bylakuppe, part of the Mysuru district of the state of Karnataka, the monastery is home to a sangha community of over five thousand lamas (both monks and nuns), a religious college (or shedra) and hospital.
