Day 1: Arrive in Ljubljana, Slovenia
Welcome to the Green Heart of Europe
Arrive by flight by noon hour around 1:30/2:00 PM in Ljubljana, the capital of the Slovenia and most iconic of all of Central Europe's cities. Ljubljana, the charming capital of Slovenia, is a city where old-world elegance meets youthful energy. Nestled between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, this picturesque city is known for its cobbled streets, vibrant riverside cafes, majestic bridges, and Baroque architecture. The iconic Ljubljana Castle watches over the city from a hilltop, while the emerald-green Ljubljanica River winds through the heart of the old town, crossed by bridges like the famed Triple Bridge and Dragon Bridge.
Avail the group pick-up from the Ljubljana international airport at around 2:30/3:00 PM and proceed to the hotel while, enjoying your first impressions of this green and graceful capital. Check in at the hotel and enjoy time at leisure till we proceed for the dinner. In the evening, we will attend a Traditional Slovenian Folklore Show with Dinner, an engaging celebration of Slovenia's rural heritage, complete with vibrant costumes, lively folk dances, and hearty local cuisine served in a festive setting. As the day draws to a close, we return to the hotel in Ljubljana, hearts full of memories and melodies, to rest and prepare for the journey ahead.
Day 2: Lake Bled and Magical Ljubljana
A Storybook City of Castles, Culture, and Canals
The morning light bathes the charming city of Ljubljana in a golden hue, bringing its picturesque streets, graceful bridges, and leafy boulevards to life. Post breakfast, we set out on a scenic drive from Ljubljana to Lake Bled, one of Slovenia's most iconic and picturesque destinations, nestled in the foothills of the Julian Alps.
Our journey through verdant hills and quaint villages leads us to this fairytale-like lake, famed for its emerald-green waters, charming island, and dramatic cliffside castle. Our first stop is Bled Castle, perched dramatically atop a cliff overlooking the water. This thousand year old fortress the oldest in Slovenia offers panoramic views of the lake, the island, and the surrounding alpine landscape. Inside, the castle museum brings centuries of Slovenian history to life, including traditional printing works and medieval tales that celebrate local heritage.
In the afternoon, we shall enjoy a guided city tour of Ljubljana. We shall take the funicular ride up to Ljubljana Castle, the city's iconic landmark perched on a hilltop. The castle offers panoramic views of the city and the surrounding landscape. Wander through its historic halls and towers, and learn about its centuries-old history that mirrors the story of Slovenia itself.
Descending back into the Old Town, we continue to the Museum of Modern Art, where contemporary Slovenian and international works come together in a vibrant display of creativity and culture.
We shall enjoy a serene boat ride along the Ljubljanica River, drifting beneath the city's iconic bridges, including the Triple Bridge and Dragon Bridge. From the water, you'll witness the beauty of Ljubljana from a new perspective, framed by willow trees and riverside cafes.
As the day winds down, we return to the hotel post dinner for rest and exciting days ahead.
Day 3: Ljubljana to Zagreb
Trakoscan Tales and Zagreb Trails
Wake up in Ljubljana, with memories of the tranquil Lake Bled still fresh in your heart, and prepare for a journey into Croatia, where Central European elegance meets rich tapestry of Mediterranean vibrance.
After breakfast, begin your scenic drive towards Zagreb, the vibrant capital of Croatia. En route, enjoy a delightful detour to Trakoscan, a serene gem of northern Croatia. Nestled amidst romantic woodlands and overlooking a peaceful lake, we stop at Trakoscan Castle, one of the most beautifully preserved castles in the country. Dating back to the 13th
century, this fairy-tale fortress invites you to step back in time and wander through lavishly decorated chambers, marvel at collections of medieval weaponry and art, and soak in sweeping views from its towers.
Following this immersive experience, continue your journey through rolling hills and picturesque countryside to arrive in Zagreb and enjoy the guided walking tour of Zagreb and funicular ride, as we visit, Trg Bana Jelacica, the city's main square where the Upper and Lower Towns meet. Next striking feature is St. Mark's Church, easily recognizable by the brightly colored tile roof bearing the coats of arms of Croatia, Dalmatia, Slavonia, and Zagreb City.
Post dinner, we shall check in to the hotel and unwind.
Day 4: Plitvice National Park and Zadar
The Dreamy World of Waterfalls
In the morning, draw your curtains to see the gleaming city in all its glory ! Post hearty breakfast, proceed to the magical Plitvice National Park, home to spectacular 90 waterfalls, 16 terraced lakes and diverse flora and fauna in the heart of Croatia. The process of tufa formation, which results in the building of travertine and barriers that created the terraced lakes with waterfalls has an outstanding universal value, for which the Plitvice Lakes is internationally recognised as UNESCO World Heritage site. We shall have a guided walking tour of the Plitvice park's magical land of lakes, trails, and waterfalls, with a boat cruise across Kozjak Lake .
After an adventourous day at Plitvice, we shall drive towards Dalmatia coast, to a 3000 years old Mediterranean port city Zadar. The beautiful old town, by the Adriatic Sea and surrounded by walls and towers on a peninsula, is a treasure trove of archaeological treasures and monuments from the ancient, Roman medieval and Renaissance periods.
At Zadar, we unveil the marvel of Sea Organ, the world's first musical pipe organs that is played by the sea, this organ offers never-ending concert of numerous musical variations in which the performer is nature itself. Enjoy a guided walking tour of Zadar and visit Church of St. Donat: a stone of the past. This remarkable circular church dates from the 9th century is one of the most important church treasuries in Croatia.
Check-in to the Hotel at Zadar post dinner and enjoy a merry sleep.
Day 5: Drive to Dubrovnik
Along the Dalmatia coast
It is time to take a leisurely and scenic drive down the romantic and captivating Croatian coastline, marveling at the beauty of the inland scenery and gazing upon the azure waves of the Adriatic.
Post breakfast, we shall proceed to the stage for the movie 'Game of Thrones' at Dubrovnik and feel part of the act while you're there. Often called the 'Pearl of the Adriatic' Dubrovnik has the wealth of history derived since 7th century. Different cultures have reigned over the city known for its orange-tiled rooftops, fantastic walls, and stunning harbor including the Venetians and Hungarians
The narrow streets paved with stone and centuries-old buildings simply give Dubrovnik a look and feel like no other city in the world.
Upon reaching Dubrovnik, in the afternoon, enjoy a ride on Dubrovnik cable car that will bring you to the top of Mount Srdi for awe-inspiring views of the Old Town and Elaphite Islands. Next to the cable-car station is Napoleon's Fort Royal, an immense stone fortress that played a strategic role in the 1992 Siege of Dubrovnik during the Croatian War of Independence.
Day 6: Dubrovnik Sightseeing
The Pearl of the Adriatic
Post breakfast, we shall procced to walking guided tour of Dubrovnik. Entering through the historic city gates allows you to experience what it was like for visitors reaching Dubrovnik hundreds of years ago. The walls were built in the 10th century and remain the best-known feature in the city.
Gaze upon religious relics at Dubrovnik Cathedral - The Baroque-style cathedral with detailed carvings and sculptures, was built over 500 years ago on the site of an older cathedral.
At the courtyard of Rector's Palace admire the Gothic and Renaissance architectural styles. The area often attracts a lot of performers and often plays host to various festivals and concerts throughout the year. The inside of the palace includes a large museum with over 15,000 artworks, including various exhibits that detail the history of the region and paintings from famous Italian and Dalmatian painters.
After all that pleasures we had during the day, we will proceed back to the hotel and sleep over the beauty of Dubrovnik.
Day 7: Mostar - Bosnia-Herzegovina
A charming old town in a breathtaking location
Bid farewell to Dubrovnik's vibrant coastal charm as you depart in the morning. Post breakfast, journey into the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The landscape gracefully transitions as you cross the border, leading you to descend into the enchanting valley of the Neretva River, where the captivating City of Bridges, Mostar, truly the cultural capital of Herzegovina, nestled amidst a dramatic mountainous embrace.
Upon arrival, your gaze will inevitably be drawn to the iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge) , an architectural masterpiece born from the ingenuity of the Ottoman Empire. This graceful arch, meticulously restored by UNESCO, stands not only as one of the Islamic world's finest pieces of Balkan architecture but as a powerful symbol of regional reconciliation and enduring multiculturalism. Wander the bridge's cobbled perimeter, exploring the vibrant bazaars, ancient mosques, and charming Ottoman-era houses that line its banks. Here, you'll uncover the rich tapestry of cultural influences that pay homage to the diversity and the resilient spirit of the past.
After soaking in Mostar's unique ambiance, we then continue on scenic journey towards the spectacular Split, one of the most beautiful cities on Earth and the cultural capital of the region of Dalmatia. Enjoy a delightful dinner en route before checking into your hotel for a peaceful night's rest.
Day 8: Split - Chic and Energetic
A Dalmatian Dream Unfolds
Greet the day in Split, a radiant coastal gem of Croatia that blends sun-kissed shores with centuries of history. Feel the Adriatic breeze and behold a captivating panorama of terracotta rooftops, whitewashed houses, and Romanesque bell towers along the glistening coastline. The city's vibrant charm and the calm rhythm of the sea offer the perfect start to your day.
Post breakfast, set out on a guided city tour of Split - a city where ancient Roman architecture and Dalmatian spirit intertwine. Begin at the heart of the city, Diocletian's Palace , a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most impressive Roman monuments still standing. Once the retirement home of the Roman emperor Diocletian, today it pulses with life, as shops, homes, and cafes nestle within its ancient walls.
Step inside the Diocletian Cellars, remarkably well- preserved substructures that give a glimpse into the scale and genius of Roman engineering. Continue to Saint Domnius Cathedral , originally the Emperor's mausoleum, now one of the oldest Catholic cathedrals in the world still in use in its original structure. Its bell tower offers stunning views for those who wish to climb.
Stroll along the elegant Marmont Street, lined with charming boutiques and lively cafes, and soak in the city's energetic yet laid-back Dalmatian lifestyle. Enjoy the vibrant Riva promenade, with swaying palms and views of the harbor, makes for a perfect photo stop.
In the evening, gather for a hearty dinner at a local restaurant. Post dinner, return to your hotel and unwind for the night, carrying with you the lingering charm of Split.
Day 9: Drive to Zagreb
Splendor of Croatian Capital
The morning begins with a classic Croatian breakfast. It's time to big good bye to Split, the magnificent metropolis, which has a history of habitation dating back to the fourth century BC. Post breakfast we shall proceed back to the croatian capital Zagreb, winding past some of the country’s most entrancing towns and villages. Zagreb has re-invented itself as a distinct and welcoming European city with cafes and butiques dotting the high streets, culture and history radiating from local monuments and sites.
As a pleasantly walkable city, Zagreb's streets provide a variety of flea markets to be explored. In the afternoon, enjoy leisure time to laze around the streets of Dolac Market for some delicious food, walk into Koza for some hand-crafted leather items, before proceeding to dinner and good night sleep.
Day 10: Departure from Croatia
Time to Bid Good Bye
Today, we will bid goodbye to the Dalmatia coast, and its castles and towns, mountainsides and amazing histories, along rivers and hidden in plain sight. It's time to move from the hotel to the Zagreb international Airport where you will begin your journey back home. You shall be dropped at airport 3 hours before for flight departing at around 9:00 AM or departing at around 12:30/1:00 PM from Zagreb international Airport.
8 nights accommodation in 4* category hotels - 2 Nights in Ljubljana, 2 Nights in Zagreb, 2 Nights in Split, 2 Nights in Dubrovnik. 1 night in 3* category hotel in Zadar. All stay on twin sharing basis. If you prefer single sharing room, contact us for supplemental cost. In Europe, size of hotel rooms and bathroom are relatively smaller compared to other countries.

Special Travel and Health Guidelines for 50+ Aged
Europe Cities covered in this itinerary are Medieval heritage cities and commercial transport access is restricted and limited. Most of the city sightseeing will be covered by guided walking tours which need walking on cobblestone street and some part on slope.
You must be physically fit and should be able to walk at good walking pace without needing any assistance or support.
If you suffer from knee pain, back pain, asthma, heart ailment and face difficulty in walking or walk at slow pace or do not like to walk or need support to walk, this tour is not appropritae for you.
September - October - the Autumn is the magnificent season and known for pleasant weather and clear blue sky to visit Croatia. Average temperature ranges between 15 - 20 degree C.
Do You Need A Visa
Schengen tourist visa for Indian Passport Holder is applied through Croatia VFS. It takes 2 - 4 weeks to get Visa approved after all documents submitted. You have to visit VFS in or around your hometown, to get your biometric done.
We shall assist you in getting appointment at VSF. Please note 50+ Voyagers only assists you in the visa application and can not influence your visa process, duration and approval. It's your responsibility to ensure you submit all required documents as per guidelines of Schengen tourist visa. The respective country's Consulate is the sole authority to grant you Schengen tourist visa.

We started our tour from Prague, visited Kutna Hora, Cesky Krumlov, Hallstatt, Salzburg, Vienna, Bratislava and finally ended our tour in Budapest.
We fondly recollect the walking tours on cobblestone streets, passing through vibrant squares & courtyards, lined with pavement cafes, the towering Gothic Churches, magnificent medieval Castles & Baroque Palaces, not to forget the wonderful breathtaking scenery with snowcapped mountains, green pastures and glistening lakes in the background as we travelled by coach across the 4 countries. Even though most of us were above 60 years in age, we walked 12 to 15 thousand steps daily on an average and never felt tired. This was because of the meticulous hour to hour planning each day 50+ Voyagers, complemented by the experienced tour manager and local tour guides. The restaurants for lunch were well chosen, exposed us to the local, chinese and intercontinental cuisines. Dinner after a memorable day of sightseeing was mostly in Indian restaurants. The 4 Star hotel accommodation in all the four cities was, clean, comfortable and ideally located close to the city centre. We were also extremely lucky with the weather, 2nd day onwards we had a lot of sunshine with ideal temperatures hovering between 12 to 24 degrees.
Last but not the least we thank to our experienced, tactful and helpful 24by7 tour manager who went out of his way to ensure that the tour was a grand success. This was our 3rd trip with 50+ Voyagers and we are eagerly looking forward more such trips with them in the future.

It was an excellent opportunity to visit Japan, my third trip with 50plusvoyagers.
Japan has lots of to offer- neatness, discipline, politeness, humbleness, civic sense and especially mindfulness towards outsiders as well as their own countrymen.
Our trip was well planned with beautiful and interesting itineraries, comfortable accommodation, sumptuous Japanese and Indian food- with a balance of vegetarian vs non-vegetarian dishes, logistics of course blended with the thoughtfulness of experienced tour managers.
His communication, consideration and patience towards seniors and doing his best to solve our problems, if any. His affection, listening skills, inputs and guidance are excellent. It was always a pleasure to follow the local guide our favourite teacher, an ever smiling and gentle man personality, accompanied us upto Kansai airport assuring our safety. In fact I found safe and secure in another country only because of these two leaders. The novel experience of ONSEN bath, KIMONO wearing and tea ceremony added another flavour to our trip.
Lastly, a group of strangers turned into a nice family including my roommate, with whom I enjoyed a decent and peaceful companionship .
What I can interpret Japan visit, highlighting Mt. Fuji (considered as a female)- a volcano inside but cool outside covered with snow, a typical female attribute, making it most respectful and one of the major attractions of the country. Thanks to 50plusvayagers and my whole group for making lovely memories, to be cherished forever. Yes, "life begins at 50"

Embarking on my first solo tour to Japan with 50+ Voyagers was a thrilling experience that far exceeded my expectations. With the brilliant leadership of our tour manager, and the ever-knowledgeable guide, we explored some of Japan's most iconic cities - Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Nara, and Osaka. Each destination brought new adventures, memories, and, of course, surprises!

While I had some trepidation at the start of the tour, our fantastic travel manager and the wonderful group of travellers soon put me at ease. Starting from friendly and ever smiling Tour manager who took charge at Kolkata airport and entertained us all along. The hotels booked were at excellent locations, spacious , very well appointed , friendly staff. The best part of the tour planning was we were always given a kind of leisure time and no hurry to hop on to bus. for next program - perfectly designed for 50 + Voyagers.
Entertainment was well planned with evening meal at exclusive restaurants and even visit to GPO where some of us got Bhutan Post Stamps issued with their picture posted cards to near and dear ones. Overall it was a very entertaining and relaxing tour.
