Board your early morning flight from India and arrive Athens Airport in Greece by afternoon between 1 PM - 3 PM. Let the morning sun wash over the ancient city as you wake up and welcome a bountiful day. Post hearty breakfast, we shall proceed to Delphi, where most important Greek temple - "Oracle of Apollo", an UNESCO World heritage Site is located. Driving along the national road through the Rural Greece to Thessalonoki, crossing the cities of Thebes, Levadia and the picturesque village of Arachova, we shall arrive at Delphi, situated on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, with beautiful views over the Pleistos Valley and the Adriatic Sea.
As per ancient Greek mythology, Delphi is considered as the centre of world, a sacred space where man could communicate directly with the god through the most famous ORACLE. The legends say, The two golden eagles, released by Zeus to find the centre of the earth, met here. And it is where the god Apollo founded his sanctuary when he killed the dragon Python. Enjoy the grandeur and serenity of nature combines with legend of Apollo, bow to what men and nature made together, a creation beyond place and time.
During ancient classical world, Delphi was a mejor pilgrimage site. Today, on a walking tour of Delphi on the slopes of mountains, we shall visit the ruins of 'de Sanctuary of Apollo, the Treasure of Atheneans, the Oracle of Pythia, the Delphi Museum with the renamed bronze Charioteer and Aghias of Lisipus among other masterpieces of the period. Post lunch at local taverna, we shall return back too Athens.
In the evening proceed to Greek dinner with folklore music and dance. On the way enjoy famous skyline of Athens with Acropolis hill and Parthenon illuminated at night.
Post breakfast, we shall embark on city tour of Athens. We shall first visit the Acropolis Archaeological Site (Parthenon, Propylea, Temple of Athena Nike, and Erechthion) and admire the view of Parthenon that crowns Acropolis Hill. Built in the mid-5th century BCE, Parthenon is dedicated to the Greek goddess Athena Parthenos - 'Athena the Virgin'. With massive foundations made of limestone, and 46 outer columns and 23 inner columns made of Pentelic marble, the Parthenon is regarded as the finest example of Greek architecture.
Then, you shall begin a panoramic city tour passing by the city’s major attractions: Hadrian's Arch, the Temple of the Olympian Zeus (a colossal ruined temple dedicated to Zeus, king of the Olympian gods), Zappion and the National Garden, Syntagma Square and the Parliament building. The Temple of Olympian Zeus, overlooking the cobblestone streets of the Plaka, the oldest neighbourhood of Athens. The Temple of Zeus was erected under that patronage of Roman Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd-century AD. We shall continue through Constitution Square, Presidential Palace.
We shall visit the 1st Olympic Games Stadium of the modern era (1896) well known as 'Kalimarmaro', the only stadium in the world entirely made of marble.
Post lunch, we shall board flight to Santorini, one of the most romantic places in the world. From the plane window, enjoy the view of sparkling azure waters of the Aegean Sea as the plane glide to Santorini airport.
Upon reaching Santorini, proceed to hotel for leisure evening with greek style dinner at hotel.
Post breakfast, we shall start enjoying the island tour, visiting Fira, most beautiful and picturesque villages of Santorini. Fira is life and buzz of Santorini! Originally known as Hora, based on the rim of the caldera and 260 meter above sea level. This is one of the few places in the world that actually looks better than the postcards ! Fira is a long, narrow collection of white washed buildings with steep, narrow, stepped alleyways. Admire the pretty Blue Dome Church in the artisan neighbourhood of 'Firostefani'.
We shall visit the Red Beach, a scenery reminding Mars on earth, right by the sea. Red beach is a rare sight and very unique in the whole world. Here red is the dominant color and the beach is surrounded by steep red hills that create a captivating, wild landscape.
Post lunch, visit the sophisticated and charming village of Oia situated at the north point of Santorini goes beyond all expectations. Oia hosts the most magnificent views over the volcanic islets and caldera, as well as demonstrating wealth from its commercial trading days by its marble flooring, art galleries and jewellery shops. Its colourful Cycladic architecture as well 52 blue domes are truly memorable. Enjoy and take plenty of photos with charming whitewashed houses, churches with blue domes, and wonderful buildings with harmonious colors that create a fascinating landscape.
We shall have a walking tour of beautiful Mykonos town which is also known as Chora. Its most prominent feature, are the glittering whitewashed houses with their vividly painted doors and windows, decked out in bougainvillea. Walk through Cycladic architectural landmarks such as Windmills, Paraportiani Panagia church, a picturesque snow-white church in the backdrop of a fishing village and seafront. Spend your own time exploring the most scenic corners of the island, Alefkantra - The 'Little Venice' , that are designed like a maze, crisscrossed by narrow marble streets lined with fancy boutiques, art galleries, and charming outdoor cafes.
After having our lunch, check-in to the hotel, and enjoy rest of the day at leisure. You may choose to sit on the patio near the pool and stroll through the lovely streets of Mykonos Town or traversing the numerous churches of the island.
Morning reaches slowly over the island giving you ample time to rise and shine. Post breakfast, we shall transfer to Mykonos port to board a high speed ferry towards Paros, one of the most beautiful Greek islands, renowned for its breathtaking beaches, panorama of magnificent translucent Aegean Sea and extensive cultural history. Upon reaching Paros island, in the central Aegean Sea, walk through the old town of Parikia towards the 13th century Venetian castle, which guarded the island from pirate and enemy attacks. Then, we shall take a short walk towards the most famous and one of the oldest churches in Greece, Panagia Ekatontapyliani, built around 400 AC and the protector of Paros. From there, we’ll drive through the picturesque coastal villages of Alyki and Drios. Then we shall proceed to the charming beaches of Pisso Livadi, at the east part of the island, where we shall have lunch at a local Greek tavern.
Post lunch, continue to see the traditional Cycladic architecture at Lefkes, the most authentic village and the former capital of Paros, and Marathi, where the ancient marble quarries were located. Enjoy splendid vistas of the landscapes and the Aegean on the horizon, as we continue with a visit of tranquil traditional villages of Naoussa, a beautiful fishermen’s village with gorgeous views of , here we take little walk through its small streets and the port with the colourful fishing boat and whitewashed cubic and flat-roofed houses, making it the most picturesque spot in Paros. Post a wonderful day out at Paros, we bid good-bye to the iconic wind-mills at Paros port and take high speed ferry back to Mykonos.
Today we shall wave goodbye to the lapping shores, quaint windmills, and labyrinthine streets of the Mykonos island. Enjoy a perfect breakfast with a panorama of the Mediterranean sea one more time, and post lunch we make our way to the port to board the hydrofoil set for Athens.
Upon arrival at Piraeus, the port of Athens, proceed to the hotel for check-in. Enjoy your evening walk and souvenir shopping at the cozy and picturesque neighbourhoods of Plaka and Anafiotika for a journey into the past. Return back to the hotel for dinner and good sleep.
Wake up in the morning to the aroma of fresh pancakes, sweet baklava and pastries drifting out of bakeries in the greek alley. Enjoy breakfast with creamy Greek coffee.
Post an early breakfast, we shall check-out from hotel and proceed to National Archaeological Museum of Greece. It is the largest museum in Greece and with more than 11,000 exhibits, offers ta panorama of the ancient Greek civilization from Early Prehistory to Late Antiquity, making this museum one of the most important museums in the world.
Post the Athens tour, we shall be dropped in group at Athens Airport by 12:00 PM, for your return flight, so your flight should depart post 14:30 PM.
