The Wildebeest Migration, is one of the 'Seven New Wonders of the World' and also known as The World Cup of Wildlife. The yearly cycle begins when a half million calves are born between January and March in southern part of Kenya. Once the rains end in May the land dries fast, then the grazing animals head north for their dry season refuge in the Masai Mara. Wake up in the City of Nairobi, gateway to explore the famous wild life of Africa. Post breakfast, drive through spectacular scenery of Kenya to Amboseli National Park, synonymous with majestic herds of wild elephants and glorious views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest and world's highest free-standing mountain.
The magical land - Amboseli national park lies in the North West direction of Mount Kilimanjaro, on the border of Kenya and Tanzania and covers an area of 392 square kilometres which is dominated by acacia woodland, rocky thorny bush, swamps marshland and a Pleistocene lake. By noon hour, arrive at the jungle lodge and enjoy your lunch admiring Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Post lunch, proceed to an afternoon game drive safari in Amboseli which is inhabited by Large herds of elephants, buffaloes, lions, and cheetahs along with impalas, zebras, giraffes and the more reclusive leopards. Return back to the lodge, relax and settle into the rhythm of this extraordinary landscape.
On this day rise up early and head out for an early morning game drive, which is always very rewarding as you get to encounter a variety of birds and wildlife most especially predators like lions, leopards who are most active during the morning hour. You may encounter elephants walking beneath the towering dome of Mt. Kilimanjaro. After a surreal safari experience drive back to the jungle lodge for some rest, enjoy resort facilities and lunch.
Proceed to an afternoon game drive to continue with your introduction to the African wildlife. The forested slopes and open moorland of the Kilimanjaro Mountains provides a habitat for elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs and bushbucks. Spend an amazing afternoon watching a cast of buffalo, rhino, gazelle and elephant that wanders by.
Join the lodge for dinner at the restaurant overlooking the Kilimanjaro. You can look forward to a fresh and organic meal, sourced locally from the neighboring villages.
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the park before joining the lodge for a breakfast buffet. Afterwards begin a spectacular journey through the Great Rift Valley towards Lake Naivasha National Park.
Upon reaching lake Naivasha and post lunch, in the afternoon, you will set off to explore the Lake Naivasha national park, one of large fresh water lakes in Kenya and famous for hippos and birds like flamingos in abundance. Embark on a safari to the park, where Giraffes, zebras, impalas, and waterbucks can be sighted in the immediate vicinity of Lake Naivasha.
Return to the Lodge for a fresh and local dinner in the dining area before drifting to sleep as a breeze from the lake blows through your cottage room.
After breakfast, you will begin your journey towards the famed plains of the Masai Mara. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor can see animals in the same super-abundance as they existed a century ago. Passing through the park gates will signal the beginning of your first safari as you begin to move through herds of gazelle, zebra, and giraffe on route.
Check in to Masai Mara leisure camp and enjoy your lunch. Later in the afternoon, proceed on a safari game drive through endless grass plains that stretch into the horizon, more than two million mammals graze on this land during the great wildebeest migration. We won't be the only one closely inspecting the herds. Trailing their movements is an abundant collection of predators. The big cats may be found in many parks across East Africa, but nowhere can rival the Masai Mara for its sheer concentration of these imperial predators. Return back to the camp and after dinner, gather round the fire with other travellers to swap stories of the day’s adventures before sleepily returning to your cabin.When asked to imagine an African safari, you’ll probably picture the plains of the Masai Mara without even realizing it. Flat-topped acacia trees dot vast, rolling grasslands covered with thousands of grazing animals - giraffe, buffalo and elephants. Lions doze in the shade, while zebras nibble at the tall grass just meters away. Today is the day for one of the great African safari.
This morning you will rise early in order to catch the bush while it is most active. After coffee, tea and a quick breakfast, you will embark on a full day safari with innumerable wildlife encounters. Today you also have an opportunity to go on a spectacular (Optional) balloon ride across the Masai Mara. The balloon safari adventure begins in the pre-dawn hours. The magnificent view of the park is thrilling. Towards the end of the safari, you rise to a height of 1500 feet for a panoramic view of the twisting Mara River and the savannah below.
After breakfast, we'll leave the Masai Mara behind and drive to Nairobi, Kenya's colorful capital city. Upon reaching spend some time shopping at local arts and crafts market. By evening proceed to Airport for return flight back to India.
