Enjoy you evening leisurely, have dinner and good sleep for an exciting journey ahead.
The ancient city and Capital of Nepal, Kathmandu in the foothills of Himalayas represents a melange of religions, two most striking World Heritage sites of this city are of different faiths - Hinduism and Buddhism. Today, we shall visit Pashupatinath Temple which is one of the holiest Hindu temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is situated on the bank of the sacred Bagmati River and beautifully decorated with gilded roof and richly carved silver door. The sanctum deity is a five faced Shiva in the form of a lingam.
Post lunch, board flight to Pokhra, 'The valley of Lakes'. Admire the astonishing view of Manaslu- Himachali and Annapurna ranges in the backdrop of Spectacular deep valley of Pokhra. Enjoy dinner at hotel and good sleep at Pokhra for an adventurous day ahead to the astonishing Mustang region of Nepal.
Today board early morning flight from Pokhra to Jomson which is also known as Dzong-Sampa or New Fort, situated at the rustic and remote Mustang region of Nepal and extends over both the banks of the Kali Gandaki River. Upon reaching Jomsom airport, board bus to Muktinath, a Vishnu temple, and one of the world's highest temples situated at 12200 ft and epitome of the spiritual and emotional cleansing for both Hindu and Buddhists.
Admire captivating landscape of high Himalayas while you drive along the Kali Gandaki River to the base station of the Muktinath temple. The Muktinath Valley is surrounded by rugged, snow-clad mountains - Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tilicho Peak, Tukuche Peak and at the foot of the Thorong La mountain pass in Mustang. Our vehicle will drop us at base station, from where there is about 20-30 mins hiking walk on hilly path or you may hire pony horse if available. Visit the Muktinath temple and 108 waterspouts in the backyard of this temple which is called Muktidhara where frozen water is continuously flowing from the bullhead and two Kunda (ponds in front of the temple). Taking bath in these 108 waterspouts and two Kunda (ponds) believes to bring salvation. After Darshan at Muktinath temple, we shall drive back to Jomsom and stay in a basic hotel there.
Wake up in the spellbounding scenary of arid landscape of high himalayan mountains, that gives you a feeling of the Tibetan highlands. Post breakfast, we shall take return flight from Jomsom to Pokhra.
Upon reaching Pokhra, spend time floating in beautiful Phewa lake with an island located in the middle of the lake. Admire reflection of Fishtail Mountain and the Annapurna range in ripples of the Lake. In the far west you would see Mt. Dhawalagiri peaking at 8,167m. In the middle and extending all the way to the east, the view of the Annapurnas at 8,091m and at Mt. Machhapuchhre or Fishtail (6,991m) together is simply gorgeous
Check in to hotel and have good sleep post dinner.
Pokhara has a laid-back feel, but is gateway to Himalayan high altitude trekking, as three out of ten of world’s highest mountain's base camps are located within 30 kilometres of Pokhara. From any part of Pokhra, we will get an awe-inspiring view of Machapuchare or Fishtail Mountain which is considered sacred and has supposedly never been climbed.
Early morning, we shall drive to Sarangkot peak - to watch sunrise over Himalayan mountains, following winding road carved inside forest area to reach to top. Sarangkot is located at altitude of 1592 meters above sea level and is best location to see a view of the Himalayan ranges. The view from top stretches from Dhaulagiri to Annapurna, Manaslu and Fishtail. After capturing this lifetime experience, drive down to the hotel.
Rest of the day we shall enjoy city sightseeing tour of Devid fall, Tal Barahi temple and International Mountaineering Museum. Spend your evening at leisure.
Today post breakfast, board flight from Pokhra to Kathmandu, originally known as Kantipur. It was once the main trading route between Tibet and India. Upon reaching Kathmandu, check in to the hotel.
Spend your evening at leisure, walking in winding alleyways leading to UNESCO - listed sites, thriving shopping mall, bustling street vendors, and restaurants where every cuisine imaginable. Return back to the Hotel and enjoy dinner.
Later proceed to Patan Durbar Square, also known as Lalitpur - one of the oldest Buddhist cities. The royal palace of Patan built in the 17th century, is the seat of one of Nepal’s three kingdoms. Patan Durbar Square and its surroundings is a good specimen of ancient Newari architecture. There are three main courtyards in the palace: MulChowk, Sundari Chowk and Keshav Narayan Chowk. We shall also visit Krishna Temple, Bhimsen Temple and the Golden Temple of Hiranya Varna.
Post lunch, we shall proceed to Kathmandu Durbar Square, which is alsp known as 'Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square', and is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spend time roaming in the alleys of majestic and impressive Kathmandu Durbar Square and know about it historical importance, beautiful Newari architecture and lively bazaar.
Now it’s time to Bid goodbye to enchanting Nepal and take wonderful lifetime memories of an unforgettable journey of Himalayas. We shall drive to the Kathmandu international Airport for our return flight back to India.
