Detail Itinerary

  • The Charming Seaside City

    Board flight from your hometown in India today early morning or a day before, and arrive in Helsinki International Airport in afternoon hour before 2:30 PM to avail group pick up around 3:30/4:00 PM.

    Helsinki, the capital of Finland, is a vibrant and modern city with a rich history and a strong cultural scene located on the Gulf of Finland. Post clearing immigration, board coach bus and proceed to the hotel at Helsinki city and delight yourself with its sea-facing landscape and diverse architecture. On the way enjoy dinner and then go to the hotel for check-in. Take good rest and slip into the land of dreams to energize yourself for an adventurous day ahead.


  • Bohemian Fantasy with Fairy-tale Design

    Once morning mist with sunlight washes over the Helsinki city, post breakfast, we shall embark on a guided tour of Helsinki.

    We will be seeing the iconic architectural landmarks of Helsinki, Parliament House and Presidential Palace with dense Corinthian pillars from outside. We shall also glance through Monumental railroad and the Finland Hall which is also considered to be the epitome of neoclassic architecture. We shall then embark into seeing the grandeur of eye-catching red-brick Uspenski Orthodox Cathedral located on a hilltop overlooking the city and the harbor, towering above the Katajanokka island. This largest Orthodox Cathedral in Europe features the distinctive golden onion domes which is adorned with beautiful icons, religious paintings, and lavish ornate decorations.

    We shall proceed to Helsinki Airport to board flight to Rovaniemi, the home of Santa Claus and the Capital of Lapland known for magical winter landscapes and northern lights viewing. Upon reaching Rovaniemi, spend leisure evening witnessing the spectacular beauty of artic snow land full of vibrant life and happiness all around you. Have a soulful dinner and take rest for the night for tomorrow’s adventure to meet the Santa Clause.


  • Meeting the Santa Clause

    Wake up in Rovaniemi, to discover the secret of Finnish Happiness, for its closeness to spectacular Nature, amazing food and Santa Clause. Post breakfast, we shall start our day to explore the most scenic village of lapland, right out of a Christmas postcard. We shall visit some of the excellent work of the architect designer Alvar Aaltothe. Our first stop would be Lappia Hall which is a performing arts venue and a major conference center in the city. Its wavy exterior roofline looks like snowclad Lapland and when it is lit at night, it resembles the Northern Lights. We shall proceed to see the Rovaniemi Library and the Town hall which are notable for its architecture grandeur.

    Later proceed to Santa Claus Village, to experience the magic of Christmas every day of the year. Join the elves working in Santa's post office, send postcards to all your near and dear with a special stamp on them. You may also visit the Arctic Circle, marked in white line that passes right through Santa Claus Village. Take pictures crossing the line as a memory of entering the Arctic area and get the 'Arctic Circle Certificate' as one of your unforgettable travel moments. Spend leisure time and participate in adventure activities available in Santa Clause Village or enjoy shopping.

    We shall return back to the hotel and you will have some leisure time in the evening for shopping and to enjoy the rhythm of the city at your own pace.


  • The Winter Wonderland

    Post Breakfast we shall proceed to Kiruna, in the north-most part of Sweden and is known for best artic activities and one of best northern lights viewing in Sweden.

    On the way, enjoy the beautiful panorama of lakes, green pastureland and high mountains dusted with snow on top. Upon reaching Kiruna, check in into the hotel to relax well and get ready for an amazing night show of the northern lights also known as Aurora Borealis that is named after the Greek goddess of dawn, Aurora. It is a natural phenomenon where the solar rays from the sun once after reacting with the earth’s magnetic field burst into a beautiful curtain like light that sways over the night sky in vivid colors of green and red.

    Enjoy your afternoon at leisure, you may go for Dogsledding excursion to Kiruna. Post dinner, in the late evening once the sky is dark, we shall proceed for Aurora hunting by bus. The bus shall drive us far outside Kiruna city limit where there is best chance to witness the magnificent Northern Lights. Learn about the Aurora and take amazing photos with the natures wonder in backdrop. After a dream-filled night, we shall return back to the hotel. Sleep well rest of the nights for an exciting day ahead.


  • Art of Nature and Human

    Post hearty breakfast, we shall drive to Jukkasjärvi in northern Sweden, to explore a man-made wonder Ice hotel, where artists from around the world transform snow and ice into magnificent works of art and sculpture. This place inspired the Scandinavian fairy tale 'Frozen'. During winter, water of the meandering Torne River slow down and freezes into ice and every year the ice blocks harvested from the river are used to built this hotel and ice sculptures in its exhibition hall. Spend leisure time at the sparkling, subfreezing environment of Ice-hotel while enjoying your lunch in the unique Ice-hotel.

    Today, we shall have opportunity to watch another magnificent sky dance of the northern lights at the 'Abisko - Aurora sky Station', one of the best aurora borealis destination in the world, due to its position between mountains that sheild it from cloud and rain giving a maximum number of clear sky days. Upon reaching the sky-station get dressed into a super warm over suit and take a chair-lift ride while enjoying snow-clad spectacular Arctic mountain landscapes to the top of Mt. Nuolja. Admire the mighty mountains in front of you, a starry sky above you and the silence surrounding you that gives you a sense of eternity. You might see a sudden flare of green light, and before you know it the northern lights are dancing in the sky right above you, and you are caught in a meeting between earth and space. Enjoy the taste of Nordic cuisine with a gourmet dinner at the sky-station while observing the spectacular nature's art around you. After a wonderful night return back to the hotel, sleep well rest of the night.


  • The Land of the Northern Lights.

    As the sun shines on the cotton white snow, post breakfast, proceed to a Narvik, while enjoying the breathtaking views of the Swedish countryside and the Arctic region. We shall drive through the tiny red Finnish houses with husky sledges passing by as the people make their way through the snow. We arrive at Narvik with a stunning backdrop of the mountains and fjords and enjoy a good afternoon siesta post lunch. You may got by your own for snow activities that Narvik region is famous for - such as husky-sledding, snowshoeing and skiing at extra cost.

    As night falls, post dinner, we embark on a quest to witness the awe-inspiring Northern Lights by exciting 'Narvik cable car' to the Narvikfjellet an expansive ski resort. The cable car goes up the mountain where there is a Restaurant with large panoramic windows on 650 mtr above sea level. You continue the hunt the dazzling display of greens and purples dancing across the Arctic sky. , either outdoors under the open sky, or inside by one of the large panoramic windows with some hot drink and snack. After a wonderful night, return back to hotel at Narvik for overnight stay.


  • Norway’s Arctic Jewel, Tromso

    Post breakfast, drive to Tromso, a vibrant city nestled in the heart of the Arctic Norway, and is one of the best places to observe the magical Northern Lights and experiences unique culture of Norway. Upon reaching Tromso, check-in to hotel and relax well to get energized for another experience of the northern lights chasing by boat in the late evening post dinner.

    We shall walk to the boat station near hotel and embark on thrilling Polar Northern Light chase. Sail through tranquil waters on an arctic night, towards the best locations for viewing the breathtaking Northern Lights and its reflection on the ocean - a magnificent sight to behold. After witnessing Earth's most magnificent natural light, return back to Tromso and sleep well for the night.


  • Exploring the Arctic charm at Tromso

    Stepping off the hotel in Tromso, the crisp Arctic air tingles on your face with excitement of a wonderful day. Our adventure begins with a stroll along the iconic Tromsø Bridge, where breathtaking fjord views and looming mountains welcome us to this Arctic haven. Then we shall visit the stunning Arctic Cathedral, a masterpiece of modern architecture that resembles a majestic iceberg and then we delve into the traditions of Sami culture in the Museum of Sami, to learn about the indigenous way of life by getting an insight into reindeer herding, crafts, and storytelling, offering a deeper appreciation for the people who have called this land home for generations.

    A journey to the Arctic is never complete without understanding the existence of flora and fauna that thrives there in such adversities and what better way to understand that the polar museum and the arctic aquarium, world's northmost aquarium where you will to see the deep sea creatures of Artic Ocean and know about the various artic exploration adventures.

    Tromso is the most sough after place in Norway for Arora viewing due ot it geographical location. Post dinner in the late evening, we embark into the one last Arora Lights Chasing journey by bus to witness the celestial ballet of colors above, as the Northern Lights paint the Arctic sky in hues of green, purple, and pink. We drive to the viewing points with low light pollution and minimal cloud coverage and wait for the northern lights to occur. As the weather is might be unpredictable, we may have to drive to various places throughout the night, and chase the lights for the best show of nature. Return back to hotel and retire for the day for a good night sleep.


  • Time to Bid Good Bye

    The spectacular Arora lights of Artic circle from this beautiful part of Europe shall stay in our memory forever. It's time to check-out from the hotel to the Tromso airport where you will begin your return journey back home. Post breakfast, you shall be dropped to Airport before 7:00 AM to take your return flight from Tromso to India via Helsinki.

Greece domestic flight

Domestic flight within Finland - Helsinki to Rovaneimi.

8 nights accommodation: 4* category hotels in Helsinki, Rovaniemi and Tromso, 3* category hotels in Kiruna and Narvik. All stay on twin sharing basis. If you prefer single sharing room, contact us for supplemental cost. In Europe-Scandinavia, size of hotel rooms and bathroom are relatively smaller compared to other countries.

What is excluded

  • International flight for travel from India to Helsinki and return from Tromso. We suggest you take non-stop FinAir flight from Delhi to helsinki and return from Tromso to Delhi via helsinki. If you book any other flight from your hometown, please follow the group arrival and departure time fto avail group pick up/drop.
  • Additional cost of International Travel Insurance for age above 70 years. Any difference to be payable on actual by traveller.
  • TCS - Tax Collected At Source on Foreign Tours as per Govt norms. As of now the TCS is 5%, however exact TCS amount will be collected as per TCS rate applicable during the tour date.
  • Any supplement if required for Non-Indian passport holders.
  • Any private Airport pick up or drop not following the group arrival/departure schedule.
  • Sightseeing and attraction tickets not mentioned in inclusions. Any form of Joyrides, Boat rides, hot air balloon, adventure activities which are not part of group activities. Any coat/warm cloth, shoe hire coats at at the snow points.
  • Additional hours/days/nights of stay required outside the check-in (3:00 PM) on tour start date and Check-out (11:00 AM) on tour end date, as per standard followed by hotels.
  • Any expenses due to penalty/change/cancellation fee on flight/train tickets due to flight/train disruption/ delay/ cancellation in any sector domestic/ International either booked part of tour package or booked separately.
  • Expense of porter at Hotels and Airports, tipping to porter/restaurant servers, laundry, telephone, beverages, room service charge, camera/video camera fee at monuments, medical expenses, airport departure tax, flight web check-in/seat booking fee, meals not part of group buffet menu, insurance etc.
  • Meals and drinks not part of the group menu and not included as per service inclusions. Any extra drinking water you need during hotel stay.
  • Any expenses caused due to personal illness, hospitalization or accident which is not covered by Travel Insurance

    Pay Rs. 2,00,000 as 'tour booking fee' by on-line transfer or cheque or cash to the current bank account of 50+ Voyagers Travel and Adventure Club Pvt. Ltd.

    You must pay balance amount 60 days before tour departure date to ensure your booking is on.

    If you want us to make train/flight booking, appx amount of same to be paid at time of booking. Remaining to be adjusted with balance payment.


Special Travel and Health Guidelines for 50+ Aged

  • In Scandinavia-Europe Cities covered in this itinerary, commercial transport access is restricted and limited. Some of the city sightseeing will be covered by guided walking tours which need walking on cobblestone street and some part on slope and through snow.
  • You must be physically fit and should be able to walk at good walking pace without needing any assistance or support.
  • Northern Lights tour is possible only during late night when it is pitch dark for best colors viewing. The day and nights both will be sub-zero temprature and would need extremely good high quality warm clothing in layers.
  • If you suffer from knee pain, back pain, asthma, heart ailment and face difficulty in walking or walk at slow pace or do not like to walk or need support to walk, this tour is not appropritae for you.
  • December to April - Winter is known as the best time to see Northern Lights in Scandinavia. Average temperature will be sub - zero rangeing between -10 to -25 degree C.

Do You Need A Visa

Schengen tourist visa for Indian Passport Holder is applied through Finland VFS. It takes 2 - 4 weeks to get Visa approved after all documents submitted. If you have never appeared for any Schengen Visa biometric before, then you have to visit VFS in or around your hometown, to get your biometric done.

We shall assist you in getting appointment at VSF. Please note 50+ Voyagers only assists you in the visa application and can not influence your visa process, duration and approval. It's your responsibility to ensure you submit all required documents as per guidelines of Schengen tourist visa. The respective country's Consulate is the sole authority to grant you Schengen tourist visa.

Documents Required for Visa

    Original passport which is valid for at least six months from the date of return of this tour and has minimum 3 pages blank. If you have old passport, same to be submitted in original.

    Clear, signed, scanned first 2 pages and last 2 pages of your original and old passport. Photo copy of all visa and stamped pages of all passports.

    2 colour photos of size 35 mm * 45 mm. 80% Face Visible with White Background in semi glossy finish. Photo must be taken within last 6 months.
